Short ratio / final drive for Lotus Exige V6 Range, Evora Range and 3-Eleven 2GR-Powertrain with EA60-Gearbox The standard Exige S V6 gearbox ratio is basically not so bad but needs an improvement from 4. to 5. gear there is areal big speed gap of 70km/h . Also the top speed of around 315km/h at 7200rpm is real long. So we decided to change the final drive ratio in this gearbox, there are two final drives in this one gearbox, one for gear 1-4 one for the gear 5-6. We change to get a propper gear change. In the attached board you could see the speed at 7200rpm in comparison between the standard gearbox, our close ratio. The gearbox could also be used in Evora which are fitted with the Lotus sport ratio gearbox. A perfect supplement to the ratio is our special limited slip differential we also offer. S2 Elise, Exige Breather Catch Cans The Exige S can suffer from oil breathing issues due to the high revving nature of the Toyota engine and the fact that many of them are pushed hard on track. The principles behind oil separators / breathers is simple. Piston rings do not seal 100% and as a result, pressurised gasses from the combustion chamber leak through to the crank case area and pressurise the crank case and sump. The block then breathes through a pipe which usually feeds the vapour into the inlet system and the engine would then normally burn this nasty mix of oil vapour and condensation therefore potentially lowering the octane rating of your fuel, the effects of this are as follows; 1) Your engine could "Pink" or detonate 2) You will loose power Also an oily/dirty intake system will reduce the efficiency of your intercooler or charge cooler again lowering the performance of the engine. By separating and catching these gasses in our two stage breather system we can safely remove this problem from the crank case and return clean air to the intake tract.
